Job summary

HCA Healthcare seeks a Neuro Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse for Methodist Hospital’s NCCU in San Antonio, TX. Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (diploma/associates/bachelor).
• Minimum 6 months of licensed RN clinical experience.
• 1 year of critical care experience preferred.
• Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact; must obtain Texas license within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing judgment through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Perform comprehensive and focused patient assessments and document education needs.
• Create individualized care plans with goals, teaching plans, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with the care team and communicate with physicians to coordinate patient needs.
• Prioritize tasks, maintain orderly patient flow, and reassess changes in patient conditions.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and SBAR hand-off communications in care coordination.

Education

Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program
