Job summary

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for our Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU). This high-acuity unit cares for critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients, offering advanced education and certification opportunities.

You will conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma/ADN/BSN).
• Minimum of 6 months clinical RN experience.
• 1 year critical care experience preferred.
• Texas RN license or Compact license with Texas RN within 90 days.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively and regularly (physical, psychosocial, pain).
• Plan individualized care with goals, teaching plans, and family involvement.
• Prioritize and implement an efficient nursing plan of care.
• Reassess and adjust the plan as patient conditions change.
• Collaborate with care team and communicate SBAR handoffs.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and ensure timely patient flow and safety.
