Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks an experienced Neuro ICU nurse to provide around-the-clock critical care for patients with severe brain and spine injuries. You will perform frequent neuro checks, manage ICP/drain devices, and coordinate complex care with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• NM State or Multistate nursing license required.
• BSN/ MSN preferred; ADN accepted with experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform neurological assessments every 15 minutes to 2 hours using GCS/NIHSS.
• Monitor and manage ICP/drains (EVDs, lumbar drains, bolts, subdural drains).
• Administer medications/infusions to control CPP, BP, seizures and sedation.
• Assist with CT/MRI and bedside procedures; detect early brain herniation signs.
• Manage multiorgan function including ventilation, renal function and nutrition.
• Communicate with families about prognosis and care goals.
