Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Neuroscience Center (6 West) at the Main Campus in Northeast Ohio. The role involves comprehensive neurological care in a high-acuity unit, including patient assessments, ICU-level monitoring, and collaborative care planning.

Rotating weekends and holidays, with 12-hour shifts (7a-7p/7p-7a). BLS required; BSN preferred. MetroHealth offers strong benefits and OPERS retirement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed neurological assessments.
• Monitor telemetry and patient status continuously.
• Manage patient care, medications, drains, and equipment.
• Titrate medications as ordered and respond to changes.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PT/OT, and support staff.
• Demonstrate time management and prioritization in a high-acuity unit.
• Monitor seizures and provide stroke/TBI patient care.
