Job summary

Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking a Neuro ICU RN to provide specialized neuroscience care, applying nursing process and professional standards to deliver patient-centered support.

This role requires TN RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS within 6 months; you will monitor patients, administer therapies, manage rapidly changing situations, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee.
• BLS CPR required; ACLS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic and patient monitoring with rapid escalation of acute changes.
• Administer therapies and medications per patient rights; prevent falls and skin breakdown.
• Manage rapidly changing situations and anticipate patient needs.
• Prioritize, coordinate, and meet multiple patient needs in a timely manner.
• Provide compassionate care and advocate for patients, preserving dignity.
• Assess readiness to learn and explain conditions and care plans to patients/families.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Neuro ICU RN, you will incorporate knowledge of the nursing process and professional standards of nursing into your daily practice, applying knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments and interventions. Every day you will provide consistent care tailored to the changing physical and psychosocial needs unique to each patient, ensuring comprehensive and compassionate support within a neuroscience context. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and adaptability, consistently delivering high-quality, patient-centered care that addresses the complex and evolving needs of neurological patients.

• Diagnostic and patient monitoring (detection and recognition of acute changes and escalation or concerns/critical results).
• Administration and monitoring therapeutic interventions and regimens (starting/maintaining intravenous therapies, administering medication per patients’ rights, preventing falls and skin breakdown and following policies in relation to safety measures).
• Effective management of rapidly changing situations (identifying, assessing and anticipating needs).
• Organization and work rule competencies (prioritizing, coordination and meeting multiple patient needs in a timely manner).
• Helping Role (consistently contribute to a healing environment, providing patient comfort and support for human dignity, serving as a patient advocate and building and maintaining a therapeutic environment.
• Teaching-Coaching Function (assess and evaluates the patient’s readiness and ability to learn, effectively explains a patient’s condition and their interpretation of his or her illness.

Pay Range

$34.69 - $51.59 /hour
