Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems’ Neuroscience ICU (NSICU) offers a dynamic nursing role for Clin I–III, delivering age-specific care in a premier neurocritical setting. The NSICU is part of Virginia’s first comprehensive stroke center, with a history of excellence and Beacon Award recognition.

This position supports the health care team, administers medications safely, and follows an integrated multidisciplinary care plan.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
• Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program; RN to BSN within 5 years if no BSN.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; Certification in specialty area (Clin III).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-specific care per medical orders and integrated plan of care.
• Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor for interactions.
• Deliver care and document within a multidisciplinary care plan; educate and provide unit leadership as needed.
• Organize work flow and supervise other staff on Clin I–III shifts.
