Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced neuro ICU. You will perform skilled procedures, assess patients, and develop and execute individualized care plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires acute critical thinking, a patient-first mindset, and a readiness to adapt to changing clinical needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Nursing License (AZ) upon hire.
• CPR certification required; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective nursing care to neuro ICU patients.
• Performs skilled procedures and implements patient care plans.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Uses SBAR to communicate clinical findings to physicians and nurses.

• Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.


• Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.


• Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.


• Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.


• Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.


• Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside.

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing


• One (1) year acute care experience


• Registered Nurse: AZ, upon hire and


• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and


• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days

Preferred

• Bachelors Other Nursing


• One (1) year RN ICU experience
