Catholic Health Services’ Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, NY is seeking a Neuro ICU Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to deliver high-acuity neuro care in a busy ICU. The role requires NYS NP/PA license, national certification, and 1–2 years of critical care or neuro ICU experience; shifts include days and nights.

Qualifications

• Current NYS license as NP (FNP/AGACNP preferred) or PA
• National board certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA)
• BLS and ACLS certification
• 1–2 years of critical care, neurology, neurosurgery, or ICU-related experience (new grads with strong ICU RN background may be considered)

Responsabilités

• Perform comprehensive neurologic and critical care assessments in Neuro ICU patients.
• Formulate and implement evidence-based medical management plans with attending physicians.
• Interpret diagnostic studies (CT, MRI, EEG, neuromonitoring, labs).
• Manage advanced neuromonitoring devices (ICP monitors, EVDs, Licox).
• Initiate and titrate critical care infusions (vasoactive, sedation, anticonvulsants).
• Participate in daily rounds and communication with neurosurgery, neurology, and nursing.
