Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Neurological Intensive Care Unit in Cleveland seeks an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with neurocritical care or critical care experience. New graduates with extensive ICU experience will be considered.

The 24-bed academic program is led by neurointensivists, APPs, and fellows, with multidisciplinary support from neurosurgery, neurology, and nursing teams. Responsibilities include admitting/discharging patients, ICU procedures, rounds, and close collaboration with the care

Qualifications

MSN required upon hire or within 3 years for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
If in neonatal care service area Master's Degree is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations and initiates labs/tests to develop a diagnosis and plan.
Works in collaboration with the health care team and refers patients to specialists as needed.
May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by license.
Educates patients and answers questions regarding disease, treatments, and side effects.
Participates in medical rounds and ensures quality patient care.
Promotes evidence-based practices and may conduct research or help in data collection.
