Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a senior Wireless Network Engineer IV to lead enterprise wireless design, standards, and support. You will guide cross-functional teams, review partner designs, and drive RF optimization and security across large-scale networks from Salisbury, NC.

This role requires strong leadership, technical governance, and hands-on Aruba Central and Cisco Catalyst Center experience. The position is hybrid with in-person days at core locations, including Salisbury, NC, and offers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience with a focus on wireless engineering, design, architecture, and support.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise wireless technologies including RF fundamentals, coverage, capacity planning, roaming, interference, channel planning, authentication, security, and troubleshooting.
• Experience reviewing, validating, and approving large-scale enterprise wireless designs, including partner-developed solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Aruba wireless technologies and Aruba Central.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center and Cisco enterprise networking technologies.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, network segmentation, authentication, and enterprise network security.
• Experience with automation or scripting for network configuration, validation, compliance, or operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain enterprise wireless engineering standards, configurations, and design criteria.
• Review and approve wireless designs developed by internal teams and partners.
• Evaluate designs for RF coverage, capacity, roaming, interference, security, scalability, resiliency, and performance.
• Review site surveys, predictive designs, heat maps, AP placement, and related docs.
• Provide technical direction to partners, project teams, and stakeholders.
• Serve as internal SME for enterprise wireless engineering, standards, and best practices.
• Govern and evaluate exceptions to wireless standards and reference architectures.
• Engineer and support wireless management, monitoring, assurance, and troubleshooting with Aruba Central.
• Use Cisco Catalyst Center for visibility, assurance, automation, analytics, and troubleshooting.
• Lead wireless capacity planning, RF optimization, lifecycle planning, and resiliency testing.
• Develop automation for configuration deployment, validation, compliance, monitoring, and workflows.
• Support security practices including segmentation, secure wireless access, authentication, and zero-trust.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for wireless and network incidents.
• Coordinate with NOC, Security, Infrastructure, vendors, and MSPs during incidents.
• Evaluate new wireless technologies and capabilities for enterprise adoption.
• Support broader networking initiatives involving LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and services.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to team skill development.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, docs, procedures, and runbooks.
• May be called upon to support critical escalations.

Primary Purpose

The Wireless Network Engineer IV is a senior-level engineer responsible for enterprise wireless engineering, design review, validation, standards, and technical oversight. This role serves as the wireless subject-matter expert, ensuring internal and partner-developed solutions align with approved enterprise architecture and meet standards for RF coverage, capacity, security, performance, resiliency, scalability, and operational supportability.

The role provides technical leadership across the wireless lifecycle, including design review, implementation standards, performance optimization, lifecycle management, automation, monitoring, and complex troubleshooting, while supporting broader enterprise networking initiatives as needed.

Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Own and maintain enterprise wireless engineering standards, approved configurations, implementation requirements, and technical design criteria in alignment with established enterprise architecture.
• Review, validate, and approve enterprise wireless network designs developed by internal teams and external partners.
• Evaluate wireless designs for RF coverage, capacity, roaming, interference, security, scalability, resiliency, and performance.
• Review and approve site surveys, predictive designs, heat maps, access point placement, capacity models, and related implementation documentation.
• Establish wireless design criteria and provide technical direction to partners, project teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Serve as the internal subject-matter expert for enterprise wireless engineering, technologies, standards, and best practices.
• Provide technical governance and evaluate exceptions to established wireless standards and reference architectures.
• Engineer and support enterprise wireless management, monitoring, assurance, and troubleshooting capabilities using Aruba Central.
• Use and support Cisco Catalyst Center for network visibility, assurance, automation, analytics, and troubleshooting.
• Lead wireless capacity planning, performance tuning, RF optimization, lifecycle planning, and resiliency testing.
• Develop and support automation for configuration deployment, validation, compliance, monitoring, and operational workflows.

• Demonstrated experience reviewing, validating, and approving large-scale enterprise wireless designs, including partner-developed solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Aruba wireless technologies and Aruba Central.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center and Cisco enterprise networking technologies.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, network segmentation, authentication, and enterprise network security.

• Experience with location services, wireless analytics, IoT connectivity, and advanced wireless assurance capabilities.
• Experience with software-defined networking, APIs, automation, and network telemetry.
• Familiarity with zero-trust networking and identity-based network access.
• Experience providing technical governance and oversight of managed service providers and third-party engineering partners.

Salary Range NC: $146,960 - $220,440
