Overview

Encantado is seeking a System Administrator – Network Tools professional to support a major national laboratory. The department provides world-class IT Infrastructure services for end users, supporting the mission and national security. Responsibilities include providing modern telecommunications systems for data, telephone, wireless LAN, RF Microwave, and encryption, with an emphasis on security, standardization, and reducing heterogeneity. Services are delivered proactively, with a focus on customer support, applications, and data management.

Responsibilities

• Telephone MAC Admin Services: Review incoming IT Service Desk requests, clarify, and resolve customer requirements.
• Telephone MAC Field Operations Services: Install and maintain station equipment (telephones, etc.) at end-user locations, install distribution frame patches, and disconnects in communication rooms.
• DOE Telephone System Operations: Manage DOE OSP Cable operations and DOE Voicemail system MAC operations.
• Telephone Trouble Admin Services: Operate and troubleshoot the Avaya telephone system, remote nodes, and associated equipment. Install and administer frame patches, disconnects, and configure the Telephone ACD system.
• Warehouse Management Services: Maintain inventory database, manage material resources, and document acquisition, distribution, and reclassification.
• Wired Infrastructure Services: Oversee building-to-building and internal-building cabling (outside and inside plant).

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in an IT-related field plus 4 years of IT experience, or 3 years of IT experience with no degree, totaling 7 years.
• U.S. Citizenship required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q clearance.
• Experience provisioning, configuring, and managing physical and virtual servers, including software and hardware support.
• Ability to install, troubleshoot, establish, and manage user accounts, upgrade and patch software, and perform backup and recovery tasks.
• Familiarity with network automation, monitoring, orchestration, troubleshooting, and provisioning tools such as Solarwinds, InMon, Statseeker, AKIPS, Gigamon, and application performance management tools.
• Experience with SVN; preferred experience with Avaya.
