Job summary

Google is seeking a Network Test Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to drive testing across product features, from planning through automation and regression testing. You will design test plans, write automated tests, and ensure robust hardware/software releases.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate testability and report issues, contributing to quality improvements and efficient testing practices within Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Electrical Engineering or related field, with 2 years of experience in Network Test Engineering or related roles.
• Experience developing network test methodologies: test plans, test cases, and tests addressing constraints.
• Structured coding with patterns/idioms for test automation.
• Application of routing/forwarding methods including TCP/IP, IGP, BGP.
• Network problem debugging and root-cause analysis from test results.
• Documenting and visualizing test results using graphs and charts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt test plans for product features, and participate in peer reviews for coverage and alignment with test strategy.
• Automate test cases and improve test infrastructure using existing scripts and new tools to boost efficiency and health.
• Execute manual and automated regression tests to harden device hardware and software, ensuring release quality.
• Define and document test frameworks and control functions for others to test new and existing functionality.
• Participate in product design reviews with cross-functional teams, identifying testability and reporting bugs with escalation to senior engineers.
