Job summary

HireArt is assisting an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company to hire a Network Test Automation Engineer. You will develop scalable automated testing solutions that validate Ethernet-connected sensor networks across the autonomous vehicle platform.

You’ll build and maintain Python-based automation frameworks for network validation, configure bench and Hardware-in-the-Loop environments, and collaborate with Systems, Integration, Software, and Sensor Engineering teams to optimize performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in test automation or networking.
• Advanced Python and Bash scripting with pytest experience.
• Proficiency with network diagnostic tools and OSI/ TCP/IP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python-based automation frameworks for Ethernet testing.
• Develop PCAP/tcpdump tooling and fault-injection scripts.
• Configure VLAN-segmented networks and HIL environments.
• Validate interoperability between switches and sensors and ensure PPAP/Ethernet ECU compliance.
• Document automation frameworks, test methodologies, and configurations.

Job description

Expected compensation: 99.26 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Network Test Automation Engineer to develop scalable automated testing solutions that validate the performance, reliability, and compliance of Ethernet-connected sensor networks across its autonomous vehicle platform.

In this role, you’ll build and maintain automation frameworks for network validation while partnering with Systems, Integration, Software, and Sensor Engineering teams. You’ll develop diagnostic and fault-injection tooling, configure bench and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments, and validate network interoperability across sensors, switches, and other connected vehicle systems.

The ideal candidate is an experienced test automation engineer with strong Python development skills and deep knowledge of Ethernet networking, protocols, and diagnostic tools. You’re comfortable debugging across the full OSI stack, developing scalable test frameworks, and working across hardware and software environments to identify complex network integration and performance issues.

As a Network Test Automation Engineer, You'll

• Build and maintain Python-based automation frameworks for Ethernet compliance, integration, and performance testing.
• Develop PCAP/tcpdump tooling and fault-injection scripts to validate ARP, ICMP, FCS, link-loss, and failure-recovery scenarios.
• Configure and manage VLAN-segmented (802.1Q) network topologies across bench and HIL environments, including power supplies, DAQ systems, and relay controls.
• Validate interoperability between network switches and sensors and support compliance with security and PPAP requirements for Ethernet ECUs.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for automation frameworks, test methodologies, and system configurations.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, SNMP, and VLAN (802.1Q) configuration
• Advanced Python and Bash scripting skills with experience developing test automation frameworks such as pytest
• Proficiency with network diagnostic tools, including Wireshark, iPerf, tcpdump, traceroute, and ethtool
• Strong CI/CD and DevOps experience with the ability to troubleshoot across the full OSI stack

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Diagnostics over Internet Protocol (DoIP) and Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) over IP
• Knowledge of automotive Ethernet technologies and standards, including 100BASE-T1, BroadR-Reach, and H-MTD/FAKRA connectors
• Experience with time synchronization protocols, including IEEE 1588v2/PTP and 802.1AS, in bench or air-gapped environments
• Advanced Linux networking and HIL infrastructure experience, including DAQ systems and relay-controlled power rails
