Job summary

ARK Solutions, Inc. seeks a motivated Junior Network/Telecom Specialist to support a statewide NG911 operations environment. The role involves monitoring dashboards, documenting incidents, and providing Tier I support to communication centers from onsite facilities in Raleigh, NC.

You will create and manage incident tickets, coordinate with vendors, and escalate critical issues to Tier II as appropriate, ensuring continuous service availability for emergency communications networks.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT help desk or service desk roles.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, connectivity, and network equipment.
• Familiarity with incident management and ticketing platforms.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work overnight shifts in a 24/7 onsite operations environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor network dashboards, alerts, alarms, and system availability.
• Identify and document network incidents and service disruptions.
• Provide Tier I technical support to communication centers.
• Create and maintain incident tickets using Salesforce or ticketing platforms.
• Coordinate troubleshooting and issue resolution with technical vendors.
• Escalate critical incidents to Tier II support teams.
• Track vendor tickets and maintain accurate incident documentation.
• Prepare shift handover reports and provide operational updates.

Required Skills:

• IT Help Desk / Service Desk / Technical Support experience.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, connectivity, network equipment).
• Incident Management and Ticketing Systems.
• Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work overnight shifts in an onsite 24/7 operations environment.

Preferred: NOC experience, Salesforce, telecommunications, NG911, or emergency communications experience.
