THE JOB:
The Network Technical Tools and Automation specialist will drive the use of network tools and full-stack observability, focusing on network and environment reporting, including vendor performance. The candidate will report to the Sr. Manager of Network Partnerships & Automation and will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of key network tools, monitoring network health and performance, and leading automation initiatives. The incumbent will help drive continuous improvement through governance with partners and Network peers via regular meetings, with a focus on security, scalability, availability, supportability, and cost.
Utilize network tools and full-stack observability solutions to monitor network and environment performance.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance network observability and reporting capabilities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionability of reports.
Monitor end-to-end network performance and share insights to support operations and continuous improvement. Create service reports demonstrating network health.
Develop observability capabilities to assist partners, infrastructure, and application teams in issue resolution.
Optimize vendor relationships and governance to validate performance and drive improvements.
Maintain regular meetings to assess vendor performance and explore alternative vendors when beneficial. Ensure key terms and solutions operate effectively within a large hybrid enterprise network.
Enhance incident response capabilities to increase vendor ownership, reduce escalations, and improve customer experience.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in problem resolution sessions, using network tools and reports to identify root causes and implement improvements.
Develop and implement scripting and automation solutions to streamline network operations, utilizing tools like Catalyst Center, AKIPs, Partner OSS, and Grafana.
Collaborate with the team to create scripts that improve network efficiency, reliability, and scalability, continuously evaluating automation tools for optimization.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
3+ years in enterprise networking or related technology.
3+ years of experience with wired networking.
Experience leveraging automation, observability, and scripting to enhance network functions.
Experience managing third-party services, including developing and refining key terms for performance improvement.
Proficiency with enterprise network tools and reporting to identify service improvement opportunities.
Understanding of governance in partner relationships and the ability to manage complex incidents involving partners.
Ability to define, manage, and report on network service health indicators and SLAs.
