Responsibilities

  • Configure newly purchases PC's to District standards.
  • Load District standard software applications packages.
  • Perform general diagnostics on stand alone/network computers within established standards.
  • Troubleshoot specified peripherals attached to personal computers.
  • Perform bench repairs on specified CPU's, monitors, and other computer replaced devices.
  • Establish parts inventory and initiate supply requests.
  • Evaluate equipment for cost effective repair and recommend removing from inventory when appropriate.
  • Provide assistance with scheduled equipment relocation.
  • Act as liaison for district with vendors employed for contracted services for equipment repair.
  • Troubleshoot communication problems when attempting to establish connection with District Wide Area Network and VOIP telephone connectivity.
  • Assist school technology contact in maintaining hardware and software inventories as directed by supervisor (sector-based).
  • Maintain hardware and software inventories as directed by supervisor (school-based).
  • Assist with network installation, and configuration of technology devices, both basic and program related, including adaptive devices.
  • Consult with administrative staff and school technology contact as requested to lend support in the process of ordering technology and accessories, and evaluate and recommend equipment to be removed from inventory (surplus) and be designated as obsolete.
  • Follow district Technology Plan, Acceptable Use Policy, copyright laws, and technology guidelines.
  • Support and advise the school's technology committee/team to ensure technology integration and effectiveness in support of learning.
  • Work with the district IS Personnel and School Personnel to install, configure, troubleshoot and support administrative and instructional networks as needed, including file servers, operating systems, application, software, workstations, network electronics and cabling.
  • Assist school technology contact in maintaining hardware and software inventories as directed by supervisor (sector-based).
  • Maintain hardware and software inventories as directed by supervisor (school-based).
  • Assist with network installation, and configuration of technology devices, both basic and program related, including adaptive devices.
  • Consult with administrative staff and school technology contact as requested to lend support in the process of ordering technology and accessories, and evaluate and recommend equipment to be removed from inventory (surplus) and be designated as obsolete.

Seminole County Public Schools uses the statewide screening database, Care Provider Clearinghouse to determine the eligibility of prospective employees. The Care Provider Clearinghouse is administered by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) for background screening results for persons screened for employment or licensure that provide services to children, the elderly and disabled individuals. The Clearinghouse allows the results of criminal history checks to be shared among participating agencies, reducing duplication and costs; including more up to date information and on-line tracking of the screening process.
