Job summary

Brightspeed is seeking an experienced Network Technician to join our growing team. The role covers all aspects of working in the physical Central Office, including installation, maintenance and monitoring of switching equipment, generators, and fiber/copper networks.

The position requires overtime and weekend work. This hybrid role offers opportunities across remote, hybrid, office or field-based settings, depending on the position and business needs.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with inside and outside plant cabling practices.

• Ability to promote and sell Brightspeed services.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain all switching equipment in Central Offices.
• Keep backup generators in optimum condition.
• Install and maintain special circuits; work in the TIRKS system.
• Monitor and support switch alarm activity.
• Install and maintain fiber and copper networks.
• Support transport networks and central power platforms.

Job Description

Brightspeed is looking for an experienced Network Technician to join our growing team! In this critical role as a Network Technician you will be responsible for all aspects of working in the physical Central Office.

As a Network Technician you will be required to work overtime and weekends.

As Network Technician your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and maintaining all switching equipment in Central Offices
• Keeping all backup generators in optimum condition
• Installing, supporting, and maintaining special circuits and being capable of working within the TIRKS system
• Monitoring and supporting all switch alarm activity
• Installing, supporting, and maintaining fiber and copper networks
• Supporting and maintaining transport networks and central power platforms
  
  

Qualifications

• Ability to promote and sell Brightspeed services

This position is part of a bargaining unit and represented by a union. Depending upon the applicable collective bargaining agreement under which you may be hired, you may be: (a) required to join the union and pay union dues as a condition of employment; or, (b) required to pay union dues, but not join the union as a condition of employment; or (c) free to choose whether to join the union, but if you do join the union you would be obligated to pay union dues.
