Job summary

Blue Mantis seeks a seasoned Network Systems Engineer to support enterprise networks and data centers, ensuring high availability and game-day readiness. You will manage Windows, Linux, and Unix environments while coupling on-prem with cloud workloads.

Responsibilities include cloud operations in AWS/Azure/O365, VMware virtualization, and network monitoring with SolarWinds and DataDog. Expect weekend/holiday coverage and a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with multisite environments and complex outages.
• CCNA/CCNP ITIL or cloud certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Server Administration across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.
• Cloud Operations including AWS, Azure, and O365 for enterprise workloads.
• VMware-based virtualization management for scalable, available infra.
• Monitor systems with SolarWinds and DataDog to assure performance.
• Lead incident resolution and SLA adherence for network issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Server Administration: Manage and maintain Windows, Linux, and Unix environments to ensure optimal performance.
• Cloud Operations: Administer cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and O365 for enterprise workloads and containerization.
• Virtualization: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot VMware‑based environments to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and availability of virtualized infrastructure.
• System Monitoring: Leverage platforms such as SolarWinds and DataDog to ensure network reliability and performance.
• Incident Management: Lead network‑related incident resolution, ensuring SLAs are met and escalating issues when necessary.
• Security Best Practices: Implement and support secure networking solutions, ensuring robust protection in on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including topology maps and procedures for troubleshooting.

Required Skills

• Strong experience Cisco Nexus/Arista/Meraki Switches, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Windows, Linux, and Unix environments using the ServiceNOW ticketing system.
• Strong experience in NOC operations with expertise in Windows, Linux, and Unix environments using the ServiceNOW ticketing system.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, O365, VMware) and virtualization/containerization technologies.
• Backup and DR Support: Experience supporting and troubleshooting backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Rubrik and Zerto, ensuring data protection and system resilience.
• Hands‑on experience with firewalls, routing protocols, and network monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to adapt to dynamic priorities.

Preferred Skills

• Network troubleshooting in data center environments. (Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automating server and cloud operations.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based networking solutions in AWS, Azure, or O365 environments.
• Knowledge of infrastructure capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration for managing distributed applications.
• Familiarity with security best practices, SIEM platforms, and endpoint protection.
• Experience with advanced video streaming technologies and CDNs.
• Familiarity with infrastructure performance tuning and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Provide game‑day support on major holidays when games are played.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP (or equivalent) ITIL and technical certifications in servers and/or cloud (preferred).
• Experience: Demonstrated expertise in a complex, multisite environment.

Base Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $165,000.00
Note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
