Job summary

Orion Placement in Roseland, NJ is seeking an experienced IT professional for hands-on infrastructure support across networking, systems, security, and identity management. The role involves deploying and troubleshooting switches, VPNs, and wireless devices while supporting Microsoft 365 and AD environments.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of direct IT experience, strong Windows/AD/M365 skills, and comfort with on-site, after-hours on-call support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT support, systems administration, network engineering, or infrastructure support.
• Strong Windows, AD, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Hands-on networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, wireless.
• Experience with endpoint fleets, patch deployment, and enterprise IT environments.
• Scripting/automation experience with PowerShell or Python preferred.
• Identity management, endpoint protection, and security best practices.
• Print servers and enterprise printing experience a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS preferred; relevant certifications welcome.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot switches, access points, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
• Administer AD, Entra ID, Group Policy, user accounts, permissions, and role-based access.
• Support Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, wireless, endpoint, and connectivity issues.
• Provide escalated end-user support and resolve complex technical issues.
• Manage endpoint patching across desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
• Maintain print servers and enterprise printing environments.
• Track tickets, document configurations, and meet service expectations.
• Partner with vendors to resolve infrastructure and technology issues.
• Support security initiatives, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, and identity management.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows using PowerShell, Python, or other technologies.
• Assist with system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and new technology deployments.
• Travel to external locations for hands-on technical support as needed.
• Participate in on-call support during nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Python is preferred.
• Understanding of identity management, endpoint protection, and security best practices.
• Experience supporting print servers and enterprise printing environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to support non‑technical users.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft SC‑200, MD‑102, Palo Alto PCNSE, or related credentials are preferred.
• Palo Alto Networks experience is preferred.
