Job summary
Softthink Solutions in Canton, GA seeks a Network & Systems Engineer responsible for 24x7x365 monitoring, patching, alerting, and maintenance of the city’s IT infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, switches, and cloud platforms.
You will ensure reliability, performance, and security of all managed systems while implementing proactive monitoring, patch compliance reporting, and Azure, Microsoft 365, and Veeam backups, with related quarterly health reviews.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of network/system administration experience.
- Experience with FortiGate firewalls, Microsoft 365, Azure, Veeam.
- Experience managing servers, switches, patching, and monitoring tools.
Responsibilities
- Monitor servers, network devices, and cloud systems
- Manage FortiGate firewalls and advanced threat protection
- Perform patching, updates, and maintenance
- Provide automated alerting and human review/response
- Administer Microsoft 365 tenant
- Support Azure and Veeam backup environments
- Configure new or replacement servers, switches, and firewalls
- Conduct quarterly network health reviews and provide plain-language reports

Work Authorization: US Citizen
- Must pass City background check
- Must follow City cybersecurity and incident response policies
Responsible for 24x7x365 monitoring, patching, alerting, and maintenance of the City's IT infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, switches, and cloud platforms. Ensures reliability, performance, and security of all managed systems.
- Experience with FortiGate firewalls
- Experience managing Microsoft 365 tenant
- Ability to provide patch compliance reporting
- Ability to support :250 workstations and 6 firewalls
- Must provide proactive monitoring and remediation
- Monitor servers, network devices, and cloud systems
- Manage FortiGate firewalls and advanced threat protection
- Perform patching, updates, and maintenance
- Provide automated alerting and human review/response
- Administer Microsoft 365 tenant
- Support Azure and Veeam backup environments
- Configure new or replacement servers, switches, and firewalls
- Conduct quarterly network health reviews and provide plain-language reports
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Preferred certifications: Network+, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Microsoft Azure Administrator
- 8+ years of network/system administration experience
- Experience with FortiGate firewalls, Microsoft 365, Azure, Veeam
- Experience managing servers, switches, patching, and monitoring tools
