Job summary

ZT Systems, a Sanmina Company, seeks an onsite Network Support technician to troubleshoot Layer 1/2 issues in a manufacturing environment in Secaucus, NJ. You will install and replace switches, patch panels, and racks while following ITIL processes.

You will join after-hours and 2nd/3rd shift rotations to cover 7x24 plant operations, logging tickets and escalating complex issues to senior engineers. Strong PPE discipline is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years supporting enterprise or manufacturing networks at Layer 1 and Layer 2.
• Hands-on racking, stacking, and cabling with copper and fiber (Cat5e/Cat6).
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, Ethernet switching, SNMP and Syslog monitoring.
• Comfortable on an active plant floor and PPE compliance.

About The Role

Provide onsite first line network support for our manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot Layer 1 and Layer 2 issues, install and replace network hardware, and elevate complex problems to senior engineers. This role is onsite 5 days a week in our Secaucus, NJ office.

What You Will Do

• Support production floors, labs, warehouses, and server rooms onsite
• Troubleshoot packet loss, link drops, interface errors, and wrong VLANs, and collect diagnostics (counters, logs, show command output) for tickets
• Check cabling, patch panels, switch ports, speed and duplex, transceivers, and MAC address tables, and monitor switch health with network tools
• Install and replace switches, access points, SFP modules, patch panels, and racks
• Log tickets using ITIL workflows, get change approval before touching production, and elevate Layer 3, firewall, OT/PLC, and security issues
• Join the after hours, weekend, and 2nd/3rd shift rotation for 7x24 plant coverage

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years supporting enterprise or manufacturing networks at Layer 1 and Layer 2, including hands-on experience with Palo Alto and Cisco
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, Ethernet switching, and SNMP and Syslog monitoring
• Hands‑on racking, stacking, and cabling experience with copper (Cat5e/Cat6) and fiber
• Comfortable on an active plant floor and willing to follow PPE and safety rules
• Clear written and verbal communication with floor operators and IT

ZT Systems, a Sanmina Company, assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package is created for all our employees. The typical base salary for this position is expected to be between $60,750 and $81,000 annually. If hired, the final base salary will be determined on an individual basis taking into consideration experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
