California Montessori Project is a public, tuition‑free TK‑8 charter school network in the Greater Sacramento Area. We have over 2,800 students at our six schools, which are authorized by the four school districts in which they geographically reside. The school provides a Montessori curriculum integrated with California state standards, offering hands‑on, child‑focused education in multi‑grade classrooms with small class sizes (averaging 24 students per class). Peer‑to‑peer collaboration, small‑group learning, and independence are encouraged.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children. Substitutes play a crucial role in assisting our schools to improve the quality of educational opportunities, supervising students, and supporting instructional tasks. This position offers a valuable stepping stone into the education field.
Substitute candidates must have availability of at least two days per week. A 30‑Day Substitute permit is not required; the school will assist with obtaining one if needed. The role also requires a willingness to support instructional assistants and maintain a positive classroom environment.
If you do not yet have your 30‑Day Substitute permit through the CTC, no problem! We need classified subs for our Instructional Assistants as well and will be happy to connect with you.
Serving as a substitute is a great way to learn more about public Montessori education and become better acquainted with our school and staff.
