Nleague Services Inc. is hiring a Cisco Network Specialist to install Edge networking equipment across the State of Nebraska and assist state engineers in maintaining edge infrastructure.

The role involves hands-on hardware work, coordinating multiple projects across agencies, and applying disaster recovery concepts. Qualified candidates will have experience with Fortinet Fortigate, Cisco switches/routers, APs, and wireless controllers, plus strong documentation and vendor communication skills.

Formación

• Intermediate knowledge of IT theory, principles, and practices.
• Working knowledge of enterprise network devices is preferred.
• Network certifications are desired.

Responsabilidades

• Install Edge Networking devices across the State of Nebraska.
• Provide intermediate technical support for installation, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of edge network hardware.
• Coordinate multiple networking projects across agencies; installs and decommissions included.
• Evaluate network systems and determine need for patches, upgrades, and analyze future technical needs.
• Develop and maintain procedures, create documentation, and assist clients and other IT staff.
• Work efficiently with a team of network engineers.
• Standard daytime hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM but after-hours/overnight stays may be required.

Requisition ID66434 CISCO Network Specialist Customer State of Nebraska OCIO Duration: 12+ Months Location: Onsite OCIO Building, 14th street - Lincoln NE- 68509

This open position when filled will be responsible for installing Edge networking equipment across the State of Nebraska. As well as assisting State of Nebraska Network Engineers in maintaining and troubleshooting existing Edge network infrastructure.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Installing and configuring large scale Edge Network equipment to include Fortinet Fortigate firewalls, Cisco Catalyst 3650 and 9000 series switches, Cisco 1111 and 9000 series routers, Cisco APs and Wireless Controllers.
• Implementing disaster recovery plans
• Knowledge of information technology theory, principles, and practices in Edge routing/switching.
• Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, local and wide area network systems.
• Knowledge of client/server network protocols and Internet/Intranet applications.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting data networks and troubleshooting tools.
• Skill in delivering responsive, quality customer service.
• Ability to write clear and concise documentation of systems and procedures.
• Ability to communicate with vendors and other stakeholders
• Ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects across an enterprise network.
• Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals

List of Job Duties

• Work efficiently with a team of network engineers
• Standard daytime hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM but can expect after-hours and over-night stays may be required
