A senior-level Network Services Manager responsible for leading the delivery and operational management of enterprise network services supporting a federal agency. This role involves overseeing a complex, Cisco-heavy infrastructure across multiple teams and sites, ensuring service continuity, compliance with federal standards, and fostering strong customer engagement. The position requires hands‑on leadership, strategic oversight, and collaboration with federal leadership and technical teams within a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of enterprise network services, ensuring SLA adherence and high service quality.
- Manage and coordinate multiple technical teams, including 5-7 teams across diverse locations, maintaining operational effectiveness.
- Act as the primary liaison between the organization and the federal customer, ensuring strong communication and service delivery.
- Monitor network performance, review incidents, and manage resolution efforts, maintaining high levels of service availability.
- Drive team performance through daily touchpoints, performance reviews, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with IT and network security teams to ensure compliance with federal policies, including FISMA, TIC 3.0, Zero Trust, and FedRAMP standards.
- Develop and oversee project plans, risks, and resources related to network infrastructure, cloud integration, and performance tuning.
- Ensure change management processes are followed, including CAB readiness, change artifacts, and incident documentation.
- Maintain customer engagement through regular meetings, status updates, and escalation management.
- Support and participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and problem management initiatives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience managing large-scale enterprise IT and network operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a federal environment.
- Strong Cisco networking expertise, including routers, switches, voice/Genesys Cloud, and cloud networking technologies such as AWS and Azure.
- Proven experience leading teams of 5 or more technical staff, managing multiple projects and task orders across distributed sites.
- Certifications: AWS Advanced Networking – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), PMP (PMI), ITIL v4, and CCIE or CCNP (or ability to obtain within six months).
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior federal leadership and technical teams.
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong leadership qualities, including decisiveness, accountability, and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds is preferred.
- Availability to work in a hybrid environment with three days onsite per week.
Publishing Pay Range
$60.00 – $65.00 hourly
