Sanford Detroit Lakes MRI department offers 8 hour day time sifts, Monday- Friday. No weekends or holidays. Sanford Detroit Lakes imaging department offers a flexible schedule and a team work driven environment.

Summary

Performs diagnostic imaging examinations on patients, ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images. Operates equipment to produce diagnostic images according to patient cases and relevant guidelines; ensures the quality of images is satisfactory.

Job Description

Demonstrates expertise in performing radiographic imaging exams and procedures, using equipment needed for the diagnostic purposes. Ensures accurate patient positioning during radiographic exams; conducts image operations according to surgeon requests in the operating room and demonstrates knowledge of fluoroscopy exams as applicable per region. Demonstrates the ability to work in a trauma situation and obtains appropriate imaging. Implements radiation safety guidelines and conducts proper radiation protection practices during the imaging process.

Independently performs works. Demonstrates the ability to perform at a high level under stressful conditions, while maintaining professionalism in the work environment. Exhibits a willingness to grow and exceed expectations. Displays the ability to work with multiple disciplines within the hospital, learning multiple procedure protocols and routines. Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy. Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. Effectively communicates with leadership regarding daily work.

Possesses the ability to perform intraoperative imaging using a C-arm, portable X-ray and other surgery specific equipment as well as performs specialty diagnostic imaging, including fluoroscopy, per region. Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.

Accurately demonstrates competency from each required exams regarding specific radiology technologist checklist.

Qualifications

Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.

Minimum of two years' experience in a radiology technologiest position preferred. Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including radiographic positioning, film/image processing, quality control, and radiation protection is required.

Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. Must also have at least three additional modalities recognized American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). This may be, but is not limited to: Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Mammography (M), Bone Densitometry (BD) If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required. In the state of Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health in order to practice in the state of Iowa If working at some clinic locations, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required within the first eight weeks of hire into the position. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
