Job summary

Gordon Food Service is seeking an experienced Network Security Team Manager to oversee the integration of security projects across Cloud and Traditional networks. You will coordinate rollout plans with sites across North America and lead a team through transformation while ensuring changes are communicated in advance.

You will partner with business leaders, evaluate technologies, manage security tooling, and ensure SLAs, controls, and ROI.

Qualifications

• Eight years of IT experience with supervisory experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with leadership.
• Hands-on knowledge of Zero Trust Networking and micro-segmentation.
• Experience evaluating and deploying security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to align security outcomes with business goals.
• Lead the team to implement security solutions across cloud and on‑prem networks.
• Ensure SLAs, internal controls, and security policies are followed.
• Develop roadmaps addressing usability, security, and performance trade‑offs.
• Oversee ROI, licensing costs, and total cost of ownership.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for emergencies.

Position Summary

The Network Security Team Manager manages overlapping implementation of Network Security projects for GFS Cloud and Traditional networks with the assistance of a Scrum Master. Coordinates roll-out plans with GFS sites through North America. Ensures communication of changes are sent out in advance. Prioritizes ongoing network security across Cloud and Equinix interconnect sites. This may include evaluation, identification, purchase, and implementation of additional network security tooling.

What you will do

• Partner with business function leaders to understand and align with business outcomes.
• Understand existing, new & emerging technologies, and utilize this knowledge to partner with other IT leaders and third parties to deliver business value through achieving business outcomes.
• Facilitate the identification and selection of technology solutions and management of these technology partners.
• Lead team to implement current digital technology solutions that enable transformational change to achieve business outcomes.
• Assist business partners and business transformation teams in the identification, prioritization, and documentation of systems improvements that achieve business outcomes & deliver business value.
• Ensure that systems meet service level agreements & internal controls, and adhere to Information Security policies & standards.
• Deliver strategic projects while adhering to appropriate delivery management disciplines, development methodologies, and architectural standards.
• Ensure that the portfolio of systems within their domain remain technically viable.
• Work with other IT Leadership to determine priorities and resolve resource constraints.
• Maintain awareness of competitive threats and architectural opportunities, and prepare application/platform roadmaps that address these trends and issues, balancing trade-offs between usability, security, and performance needs.
• Grow and develop high performing teams using appropriate staffing sourcing and talent development.
• Evaluate risks (solution, business, technology, staffing), and develop plans and actions to mitigate those risks.
• Manage technology cost/benefit & ROI, particularly in their area (includes managing licensing, benefit realization, & TCO).
• Facilitate and improve Information Technology processes.
• May participate in on-call rotation for escalation purposes.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

When you will work

• Core working hours: 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday
• Cross time zone coverage: Overlap with Central (CT) and Pacific (PT) team members, requiring scheduling availability across standard ET hours.
• On-call rotation schedule: 1 week on, 3 weeks off .
• Available 24/7 during your rotation week to coordinate staff and communicate with leadership during emergencies or network outages.

What you bring to the table

• Eight years previous information technology experience with two years previous supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required
• Ability to foster and develop partnering relationships with business function leaders and other teams.
• Strong collaboration & influencing skills.
• Ability to identify, grow and develop team members.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be organized and have strong planning skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Must have the ability to balance multiple priorities and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.
• In-depth, working knowledge of enterprise-level network architectures and operations.
• Hands-on working knowledge of implementing Zero Trust Networking principles and micro‑segmentation models.
• Formal cybersecurity training, certifications, or direct security experience preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of Palo Alto Networks security products and solutions preferred.
