Job description

An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required prior to consideration for this role.

Work is 100% onsite in Springfield, VA.

A Network Security Engineer is part of a team of skilled cybersecurity professionals supporting the design, build, and sustainment of network-based cyber defense capabilities within the organization. Responsibilities include interacting with industry-leading network security products such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, packet capture solutions, mail gateways, malware defense systems, and TLS inspection solutions. The engineer supports the integration of new cybersecurity requirements and maintains all production network security solutions, assisting in resolving network connectivity issues when needed.

What You'll Get To Do:
  • Participate in a team responsible for the integration, operation, and sustainment of enterprise cybersecurity technologies.
  • Plan and implement policy changes on next-generation firewalls.
  • Assist in designing a worldwide network security architecture.
  • Configure enterprise load balancers, including TLS break/inspect.
  • Work on special projects independently and within teams.
  • Investigate and document security incidents.
  • Implement corrective measures against emerging threats.
  • Brief senior leadership and stakeholders on the security posture.
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of routing/switching, firewalls, load balancing, and security technologies.
  • Experience with network security tools such as Juniper SRX, Palo Alto, F5, Cisco FTD/ASA, Gigamon, FireEye, RSA NetWitness, or similar.
  • TS/SCI clearance (must have at least Top Secret).
  • Security+ certification or higher (DOD 8570 IAT Level II).
Nice to Haves:
  • CI Poly (required within 6 months).
  • Certifications like CEH or CySA+ (required within 6 months).
