This is a full-time opportunity at a growing parent company of various well-known grocery stores. After acquiring more brands, they are looking for a Network Security Engineer who will work a hybrid schedule (3 days on-site at Chicago office). The perfect candidate will possess in-depth knowledge in Palo Alto firewall and ClearPass.

  • Must be an expert in network security engineering, with demonstrated experience in:
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto and Fortinet Firewalls
  • Hands-on work with HPE Aruba ClearPass, Zscaler, and Skybox Security
  • PCI 4.0 implementation and compliance
  • Root Cause Analysis and ITIL-based incident management
  • Creating architecture-aligned solutions with cost-effective delivery
  • Experience in:
  • Agile teams or product/platform operating models
  • Firewall orchestration with tools like Tufin
  • Retail or grocery industry technology environments
  • Security compliance frameworks such as HIPAA
  • Leading and mentoring teams directly or indirectly
  • Holding a Master’s degree or certifications in security or network engineering

  • 40% Red Hat Linux

  • 30% Other Systems & Security Tools (e.g., ClearPass, Zscaler, Skybox)

Daily Responsibilities

  • 60% Hands On — Engineering-level troubleshooting, firewall management, system implementation
  • 20% Management Duties — Leading efforts, mentoring, project delivery oversight
  • 20% Team Collaboration — Working cross-functionally with architects, security teams, and business stakeholders
