Our collaborative and agile organization operates in a fast–paced environment, driving innovation through tasks such as sensor/weapon integration, algorithm development, user interface development, automated testing, cyber security, enterprise/infrastructure services, and enhancing leading–edge missile defense technologies.

The Work
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer III to provide technical support for the assessment of compliance of information systems with DoD RMF standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the C2BMC network, as well as developing cyber–secure network device configurations.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support for the assessment of compliance of information systems with DoD RMF standards
  2. Develop cyber–secure network device configurations (firewalls, switches, routers)
  3. Plan, deploy, integrate, and test upgrades to the C2BMC network
  4. Conduct research on different networking and security–related topics and produce reports on findings
  5. Ensure that team devices are STIG–compliant and hardened appropriately, and run cyber protocols as needed

Please Note: This position is based at a Lockheed Martin facility in Colorado Springs, CO. The role requires flexibility to travel to alternate work locations as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. IAT Level II (8570) Compliant Certification (e.g. Security+CE, CASP+CE, GSEC, SSCP, CND, GICSP)
  2. Active Secret Clearance is required
  3. Strong understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, VLANs, UDP Multicast, and firewall configuration (Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto)
  4. Knowledge of ACL design and function, as well as hands–on experience with multi–vendor switching/routing (Juniper, Cisco)
  5. Network security engineering experience

Desired Skills:

  1. Top Secret Clearance is desired
  2. Scripting knowledge (Python, Ansible, PowerShell)
  3. Solid understanding of JUNOS
  4. Prior C2BMC experience
  5. Intermediate knowledge of security design, development, and testing methodologies
  6. Experience with virtualization and VMware/ESXi STIGing/Hardening
  7. Ability to learn security hardening basics for a wide range of niche products, software, and applications
  8. Strong analytical and problem–solving skills, with the ability to summarize, brief, and recommend solutions to security issues to leadership
  9. Effective communication skills, with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full–time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 – $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
