Job summary

Dime Commercial Bank, headquartered in Hauppauge, Long Island, is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and continuously enhance the bank's cybersecurity and network security architecture. You will partner with infrastructure, risk, and leadership teams to strengthen controls and improve cyber resilience.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years in network/security roles, with hands-on experience in Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, cloud security (Azure/AWS),

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, cybersecurity, CS, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in network engineering, cybersecurity, or security operations.
• Experience with Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Azure, AWS, Microsoft security technologies, SIEM, IAM, PAM, EDR, and MDM.
• Security programs in highly regulated industries, preferably financial services.
• Strong understanding of FFIEC, GLBA, NIST, CIS, and cybersecurity examination requirements.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and optimize network security controls including segmentation, VPNs, firewalls, and policy baselines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex security incidents.
• Design and maintain secure network architectures for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Lead security-related projects from planning through implementation across departments.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance to internal teams.
• Participate in incident response, containment, recovery, and post-incident reviews.
• Drive strategic initiatives related to zero-trust security, identity management, and cyber resilience.
• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation aligned with NIST, FFIEC, CIS, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend security improvements aligned with risk objectives.
• Collaborate with other departments on security-related items and any other duties as assigned by the bank.

Summary: Dime Commercial Bank (Dime) is currently hiring for a Network Security Engineer at its Headquarters in Hauppauge, Long Island. The Network Security Engineer serves as a senior technical contributor responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Bank’s cybersecurity and network security architecture. This role partners with infrastructure, application, risk, and leadership teams to strengthen security controls, support regulatory compliance, and improve the organization’s overall cyber resilience.

Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $100,000 to $115,000 annually. The exact compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, education, training, licensure and certifications, and location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in network engineering, cybersecurity, or security operations.
• Experience with Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, routing and switching, Azure, AWS, Microsoft security technologies, SIEM, IAM, PAM, EDR, and MDM solutions.
• Experience supporting security programs in highly regulated industries, preferably financial services.
• Strong understanding of FFIEC, GLBA, NIST, CIS, and cybersecurity examination requirements.
• Professional security certifications preferred, including CISSP, CCNP Security, GIAC, OSCP, or CISM.
• Cisco Engineering certifications a plus.
• Comprehensive understanding and technical knowledge in server administration, including GPO deployment, patching, network device configuration, and hardware management.
• Good team player, self-confident, motivated, and independent.
• Ability to remain calm while multi-tasking and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to details and good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to stretch routinely beyond defined boundaries to lend skill and expertise to partner with teams across the organization with a focus on continuous improvement.
