Job summary

A national workforce solutions provider in New Jersey seeks an experienced candidate with a Bachelor's in Engineering or Computer Science for a technical role involving advanced router configuration and network management. Job Description
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
  • Assist with the coordination and development of hardware and software bill-of-materials based on a client provided Design
  • Participate in and act as a check & balance to vendor management, relating to communicating, executing, and receiving the materials associated to these BOMs
  • Execute purchase orders according to defined process
  • Ensure accuracy and accurate tracking of materials delivery to client's Inventory facility
  • Confirmation and organization of the receipt of Capital using various software and inventory systems
  • Manage the rollout of that Capital Hardware to remote locations according to the Design and in advance of a complex critical Network growth schedule
  • Communicate the status updates of above to internal team as well as external Project Management teams using clear and accurate verbal and written methods, including but not limited to conference calls, face-to-face meetings, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and accurate technical documentation
  • Expert understanding Carrier and Enterprise grade Network Infrastructure
  • Hardware components include routers, switches, firewalls, optical taps, media such as Layer1 fiber and copper cabling, SFP Optics and associated protocols, device linecards, power cabling and rack elevations.
  • Strong history of accuracy and accountability when working with highly complex technical deployment and modification projects, which will be expected to be described in detail to the interviewer via detailed examples of such
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, and we request examples of highly technical documentation previously completed (redacted where necessary), or a detailed description of equivalent of that which cannot be disclosed to Client
  • 7 years advanced router & switch configuration & system administration experience with at least Cisco is required
  • Similar experience with Brocade & Juniper a plus
  • Candidate will be requested to verbally communicate common and advanced configuration principles
  • Expert knowledge of highly-available Networks, standards, best practices, and designs of such
  • Expert knowledge of the OSI Interconnect Model
