Optum is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to fill the role of Network Program Consultant to support all functions of the Network Data and Operations (NDO) team.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to NDO capital programs including but not limited to:


    • Coordinating financial forecasts between product owners and the capital program management finance team
    • Identify forecast variances and trends throughout program lifecycle (e.g., forecasted program spend vs. actuals)
    • Support tracking of reporting issues including documentation, owner assignment, impact and priority, target resolution date, and status
    • Schedule, facilitate, and document outcomes for key program status, issue, or working session meetings including documentation and tracking of identified action items
    • Provide support to product owners around monitoring and reporting progress throughout the program life cycle, using appropriate project planning and scheduling tools (e.g., dashboards, metrics)
    • Develop/contribute to program budgets and forecasts, obtaining approvals from applicable stakeholders (e.g., cost/benefit analysis, capital planning, staffing impact analysis/assessment) as needed
    • Support the capital request process as needed (e.g., presentations, cost-benefit analysis, business case)


  • Provide program support to Network Data and Operations organization including but not limited to:


    • Support tracking of job requisitions (status, type, hiring manager, job function) and ensure alignment with team staffing limits
    • Maintain NDO organizational charts
    • Tracking and reporting of monthly team MBO (Managed Business Objectives) results
    • Coordinating content and updates for NDO content for Monthly Operating Review sessions with senior leadership
    • Coordinate, track and ensure timely payment of vendor invoices
    • Track vendor contract auto-renewal dates and obtain approval/termination decision in advance of these dates
    • Coordinate termination of vendor agreements
    • Monitor/analyze/approve invoices and actuals against forecast to identify variances and their causes, and communicate to applicable stakeholders as appropriate
    • Schedule quarterly team Town Hall meetings and develop associated presentation materials
    • Assist in planning other team volunteer and special events
    • New hire onboarding including training assignment and tracking through completion

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of project coordination type experience, facilitating meetings/programs or similar experience
  • Experience creating status reports and presentations
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe
  • Ability to travel (1-2 trips per year)

  • Proven self-starter with a high level of initiative

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
