Job summary

Beacon Technologies in Madison, WI is seeking a TA Network Operations & Security Specialist to oversee network operations, security, and related infrastructure. The role involves installation, support, and security of hardware and operating systems, with collaboration across Technology & Analytics staff and leaders.

The ideal candidate will balance independent work with team collaboration, manage project timelines, and support cloud integrations across Azure, AWS, and on‑premises

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or related field is required.
• Four+ years of network administration experience, with at least two years in cybersecurity.
• Experience with enterprise server virtualization, VMware, Linux/Red Hat, SQL, SAN, and Palo Alto or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Security Operations: conduct risk analysis for IT infrastructure and projects.
• Analyze effectiveness of security software/hardware against policies.
• Assist cloud policy development and enforce best practices (Azure, Office 365, AWS).
• Maintain annual security awareness training with leadership.
• Proactive monitoring and analysis of security threats and logs.
• Respond to security incidents; conduct investigations and prevent recurrences.
• Manage day-to-day security infra for on-premises and cloud systems.
• Network Operations: oversee network administration, backups, and email systems.
• Support servers, desktops, mobile devices, and applications.
• Implement and support network infrastructure; act as escalation point.
• Assist upgrades of third-party applications as needed.
• Administrative & Customer Service: enforce security policies and guidelines.
• Develop and implement security standards; roll out enterprise hardware/software.
• Respond to TA tickets; document Network Operations processes.
• Other duties to meet organizational needs.
• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in network admin with 2+ years cybersecurity exp.
