Job summary

E-Solutions is seeking an experienced network operations professional in Ohio to support backbone and transport services. You will perform hands-on IP troubleshooting (BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, MPLS), read device CLIs across major vendors, and manage incidents with SLA-driven ticketing.

Knowledge of DWDM optical transport, OSNR budgets, and coherent optics is valued, with on-call shifts and weekend coverage required. Certifications such as CCNP/JNCIP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on IP troubleshooting with BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, MPLS, LAG/ECMP and interface issues.
• Experience reading device CLIs across Juniper, Arista, Cisco hardware.
• Familiar with DWDM/optical transport, OSNR, power budgets and coherent optics.
• Background in incident management with SLA-driven ticketing.
• Comfortable with on-call shifts and weekend coverage.
• Certifications such as CCNP/JNCIP or vendor optical certs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot IP transport issues and coordinate with vendors for escalations.
• Monitor networks using alarm systems and update tickets with clear notes.
• Support subsea or long-haul fiber operations and perform OS restoration tasks.
• Assist in capacity planning and performance reporting with Python/SQL.

Job description

• Years in network operations, NOC or backbone/transport support
• Hands-on IP troubleshooting: BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, MPLS, LAG/ECMP, interface errors and optics
• Working knowledge of DWDM/optical transport: OSNR, optical power budgets, amplification, coherent optics (100G/400G/800G)
• Experience with ticketing systems and SLA-driven incident management
• Comfortable with alarm and monitoring tools and reading device CLIs (e.g., Juniper, Arista, Cisco; Ciena, Infinera, Nokia optical)
• Strong written communication for ticket updates and vendor escalations
• Able to work shifts, weekends and on-call

Preferred Qualifications
