Network Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Location: El Segundo, CA (full‑time on‑site)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary engineering teams in development and analysis of future network architectures and requirements
  • Analyze and simulate complex network architectures and protocols
  • Engage in systems architecture definition, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, and prototype development/validation
  • Innovate through specialized technical studies and internal R&D projects to develop the next generation of Space and Ground network concepts, architectures, and technologies
  • Participate in development of data analysis and post‑processing tools
  • Support development and sustainment of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilities
What You’ll Need to be Successful – Member of Technical Staff
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in data analysis, OSI and TCP/IP models and in network design, analysis, and modeling & simulation.
  • Applied research in analytical, simulation, and/or experimental skills.
  • Experience in software development in Python or C/C++.
  • Ability to present results effectively in briefings and technical reports.
  • Willing to travel, as needed (up to 10%).
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
Minimum Requirements for Senior Member of Technical Staff
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, OSI and TCP/IP models and in network design, analysis, and modeling & simulation.
How You Can Stand Out
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Familiarity with network testbed development and/or experience with network emulation/simulation.
  • Knowledge of inter-satellite cross-links and laser optical communication technologies.
  • Relevant experience with military and commercial satellite communication systems and network engineering.
  • Possess a current and active U.S. Government Security Clearance – Top Secret level.

We offer a competitive compensation package: $95,200.00 - $165,500.00 (annual pay basis). Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including education, experience, knowledge and skills.
