Job summary

Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) seeks a Network Model Coordinator Level 2 to analyze NOMCR, CAMR, and RSCR data and maintain ERCOT's network models and one-line displays. Responsibilities

• Analyzes submitted NOMCR, CAMR, and RSCR data.
• Coordinates NOMCR, CAMR, and RSCR process flow internal and external to ERCOT.
• Updates Production and Future one-line diagrams as required by the Protocols.
• Facilitates Market Participant model data issues.
• Helps coordinates case creation schedules.
• Coordinates and works with data stakeholders on data exchange and transmission network model maintenance via NOMCR, CAMR, RSCR processes.
• Attends and observes the NDSWG meetings.
• Works with generation resources external to ERCOT coordinating GenMaps for EPS metering purposes.
• Works closely with ERCOT System Operations and other internal departments regarding models and displays.
• Utilizes data mining mechanisms.

JOB SUMMARY

Processes ERCOT’s Network Operations Model Change Request (NOMCR), Collaborative Action Model Request (CAMR), Resource (RSCR) and develop graphical representations of these Change Requests in the EMS. Applies skills, knowledge and work experience to conduct the ERCOT’s NOMCR, CAMR, and RSCR process to ensure an accurate and up-to-date Network Operations Model. Coordinates the NOMCRs, CAMRs, RSCRs, and one-line displays within the Network Model Group and other ERCOT departments. Coordinates day to day model and one-line creation schedule. Creates and maintains the EMS one-line displays.

• Create and update group procedures
• Resolves Market Participant model data issues
• Represents Network Modeling Group at NDSWG meetings and other meetings as needed
• Creates and utilizes data mining mechanisms and makes update requests for improvements
• Analyzes submitted NOMCR, CAMR, and RSCR data and provides rapid and effective response to customer requests, both internal and external
• Verifies that the Network Model is ready for use in the various operations applications whenever changes or updates to the model are made

Sr – Above+

• Serves as Subject Matter Expert for the department
• Handles most complex issues and critical projects both within and outside the department.
• Provides on-the-job training and acts as mentor and advisor to less experienced teammates.
• May oversee and guide the work of other co-workers

EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION

Expected Salary Range: $96,000 - $132,000

The program allows engineers to develop the fundamental skills necessary to reach their full potential while gaining an understanding of the types of engineering work ERCOT has to offer. EDP management supports participants each step of the way as they progress through the program. Upon completion, graduates are placed as full‑time engineers within one of ERCOT’s engineering groups.

The GMS Development Program (GDP) is designed to provide entry‑level and early career professionals with the skills necessary to become successful Power System and Computer Engineers. The program, which is based in ERCOT’s Grid and Market Solutions (GMS) Department, will provide experience in day‑to‑day work and instruction in the fundamentals of electric power systems engineering, grid and market applications, software programming, and IT service and operations management.
