Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced Network Market Engineer to work within our Columbia/Augusta market. Based on the manager’s evaluation of candidate experience and competency, we are open to hiring for this role at various levels.

The Network Market Engineer is responsible for estimating, planning, designing, and engineering network equipment to provide a quality solution for customer requests in their market. This includes creating documentation (Project Manuscript), which contains the Bill of Materials and all documentation required for Field Operations to install and activate services for customer requests.

The Network Market Engineer should have a basic understanding of Ethernet Ring concepts, optical selection for fiber optics, and managed services solutions. Must have a basic understanding of routers, LAN/WAN switches, IP concepts, SD-WAN, LTE, Cradlepoint, and other customer applications.

Will be responsible for designing TDM and Ethernet connectivity across the network for data and voice services, including Internet, Ethernet 2.0, Network, Carrier End User, and FTTC in Netcracker.

Will assist in resource inventory clean-up and must understand network and circuit path standards used at the company.

Will utilize a WFM workflow database to track circuit/service orders and update order status. Works closely and collaborates with all internal departments.

Will be considered one of the operational leaders in the market, supporting the Field Operations team, Sales, and Sales Engineering for pre- and post-sales opportunities. Serves as Tier II support for the Field Operations team in the market.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technical, or Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering, planning, or operations telecommunications experience (specializing in one of the following disciplines but understanding all: Switch, Data, or OSP/Transport/DWDM/SONET).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience defining, evaluating, solving, and presenting alternatives to complex engineering problems, applying engineering and economic principles, conducting studies and surveys, and analyzing technical systems or designs into component parts.
