Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for installing and maintaining various network components, software, and applications within labs. The candidate will install, configure, and support multiple network devices in diverse configurations.

This role is ineligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Update LAB Visio network architecture diagrams, including OTN ASN.
  2. Develop technical documentation for network device integration into the DT infrastructure (Radius, AAA, DNS, Visio, etc.).
  3. Review and contribute to new technical requirements.
  4. Define overall approach and structure of lab designs.
  5. Install, configure, and maintain test environment equipment.
  6. Configure network equipment, including Radius, AAA, DNS, VTY Access lists.
  7. Identify and resolve complex technical and operational issues proactively.
  8. Verify, develop, and test reported bugs.
  9. Engage with vendors to resolve equipment issues and plan future needs.
  10. Provide a Bill of Materials for future equipment needs.
  11. Generate weekly reports on system design and maintenance activities.
  12. Coordinate activities across departments to ensure seamless operations.
  13. Travel between labs in PA and NJ; based in Downingtown, PA with 90% of work onsite.

Technical Requirements

  1. Proficient in Outlook, MS Office, and performance monitoring tools.
  2. Knowledge of IP address management tools.
  3. Proficient in Cisco IOS, Juniper, and Arista IOS.
  4. Strong understanding of IP networks, subnetting, and protocols.
  5. Experience with Ethernet analyzers like Wireshark.
  6. Knowledge of packet loss, crosstalk, BER, ISO model.
  7. Experience with bandwidth analysis, trace routing, TCP/IP stack.
  8. Understanding of WANs, LANs, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls.
  9. Experience with BGP, OSPF, SPT routing protocols, ACLs, prefix lists.
  10. Knowledge of multicast protocols and traffic shaping.
  11. Knowledge of optical equipment (CWDM, DWDM, SFPs, GBICs).
  12. Experience with Load Balancers, DNS, DHCP, NAT.
  13. Experience with cable modems, eMTAs, STBs.
  14. Attention to detail, good communication, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  15. Willingness to accept additional responsibilities and lead initiatives.
  16. Self-motivated, eager to learn.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience in cable TV or telecommunications industry preferred.
  3. 5+ years in IT Infrastructure/Network, and in CO, Headend, or NOC environments.
  4. Certifications like CCNP, JUNOS are a plus.
