Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Network Installer to join our team supporting the FAA in Indianapolis, IN. You will maintain and enhance IP-based networks behind mission-critical aviation systems, ensuring uptime, performance, and security while collaborating with engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and program managers.

You will install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems; support SD-WAN; perform fiber installations and testing with OTDR; and sustain accurate network

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years experience (or equivalent: Master’s 6+, Associate’s 10+, HS diploma 12+).
• Proven experience managing and supporting enterprise network environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking technologies.
• Experience with TDM-to-IP migrations and modern IP-based networking.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN, fiber optics, and wireless LAN/WAN technologies.
• Reading and interpreting network diagrams; experience with OTDR.
• Team leadership and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Ensure uptime, performance, and security of FAA network infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Support SD-WAN across distributed environments.
• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling (single/multi-mode).
• Perform fiber testing using OTDR and certification tools.
• Monitor systems daily, analyze logs, and respond to incidents.
• Troubleshoot network issues across fiber, SD-WAN, IP layers; escalate when needed.
• Support network cutovers, migrations, and failover validation.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records.
