Network Installation Specialist supports services for the installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure, cabling, communication and security systems, hardware, and software subsystems and equipment. This specialist will play a key role in ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of computer networks for various projects and organizations. The Network Installation Specialist will work closely with IT teams and clients to plan, implement, and optimize network installations, ensuring they meet industry standards and security requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Installing, terminating, and testing communication and fiber optic cables.
- Replacing copper cabling in commercial environments.
- Routing Cat6 and fiber optic cables through conduit, ceilings, and between floors per specifications.
- Reading technical schematics and manuals.
- Providing or relocating cables and modular connections, working with EMT and J-hooks for cable routing.
- Assisting in the installation of communications hardware.
- Completing projects within budget, on time, and safely.
- Maintaining quality and professionalism in workmanship, customer relations, and teamwork.
- Adhering to safety requirements.
- Conducting field training and problem evaluation using documented procedures.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 0-3 years of cabling and electronics maintenance experience.
- High School Diploma required.
- AMAG Installer/Maintainer certification is a plus.
- Experience with network hardware devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Understanding of network security principles.
- Strong networking knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently in remote locations.
- Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Must pass Cherokee Federal pre-employment qualifications.
- US Citizenship; ability to obtain interim Secret Clearance before starting.
