This position is responsible for supporting critical production systems and ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of database environments, including Azure SQL and SQL Server platforms.

Diversified Systems is searching for a Network Infrastructure Engineer to provide advanced technical support across all phases of database administration, database development, database operations, data migration, and enterprise database management activities. This position is responsible for supporting critical production systems and ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of database environments, including Azure SQL and SQL Server platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide operations support for SQL Database and Database Server administration for critical production systems.
• Ensure overall health, availability, and quality of database services.
• Perform health checks to review database performance and provide recommendations for performance improvements.
• Perform migration and upgrades of SQL databases from legacy servers and SQL versions to new server and SQL versions.
• Perform data migration activities by designing programs to extract, cleanse, transform, load, and validate data between source and target systems.
• Deploy SQL database solutions within Azure environments.
• Secure Azure SQL resources and data.
• Provide database design support.
• Define, develop, and create databases by assessing business and technical requirements.
• Meet with developers and vendors to gather requirements and provide consulting support for database configurations.
• Deploy and maintain database schema changes across test and production environments.
• Provide technical support for Data Warehouse, Data Mart, and Power BI environments.
• Deploy, configure, secure, back up, and maintain Azure SQL database solutions.
• Integrate Azure SQL resources with other Azure services to support enterprise applications and data solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure SQL and SQL Server database performance and availability.
• Support migration of on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure SQL.
• Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical database models based on business and technical requirements.
• Review and validate data models and data dictionaries to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Develop and maintain database structures, including tables, relationships, and normalization, to ensure data integrity, efficiency, and minimal redundancy.
• Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and vendors to gather requirements and recommend appropriate database architectures and configurations.
• Coordinate database backup and restore requests with backup administration teams.
• Participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives.
• Apply data analysis and database management techniques to support enterprise solutions.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Determine time estimates and schedules for assigned work.
• Identify and track issues, risks, and action items.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve technical support issues.
• Assist in coordinating software releases.
• Manage and provide status updates on assigned work activities.
• Follow established database standards and procedures.
• Work effectively within a team environment.
• Complete assigned tasks and project deliverables.

Requirements

• 7 years of SQL Server Database Administration experience required.
• 4 years of experience performing database administration on production servers required.
• 3 years of Data Analytics experience required.
• 1 year of Azure Database Administration experience required.
• 1 year of Data Warehouse experience required.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Ability to provide high-quality and professional customer service required.

Highly Desired Skills

• Power BI Administration experience highly desired.
• Business systems analysis and design experience highly desired.
• Microsoft SQL High Availability (HA) and Always On experience highly desired.
