Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle, WA, is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer for the Network Firewall team. You will design, implement, and support scalable distributed systems defending AWS customers against evolving threats.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable distributed systems powering AWS Network Firewall.
Implement deep packet inspection and traffic analysis features to detect threats.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements and translate into designs.
Own the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and on-call support.
Contribute to system architecture decisions and drive technical direction.
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
Develop automation and tooling to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
Analyze production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence.
