Job summary

Sandy Mac Evolution in Landover, MD seeks an experienced Network Engineering Advisor to support a large, worldwide enterprise network. You will plan, engineer, implement, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, providing Tier 2 support and acting as a resource for enterprise network administration and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• Security+ certification required.
• Minimum 8 years experience with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; or 12 years experience without degree.
• Experience with Cisco IOS-XE/NX-OS, EIGRP/BGP/OSPF, and DISA STIGs.

Responsibilities

• Plan enhancements and upgrades to enterprise routers and switches and design required changes to network communications systems.
• Develop network architecture specifications and detailed schematics.
• Provide Tier 2 support to troubleshoot and resolve enterprise network outages and complex technical issues.
• Conduct cost/benefit analyses and advise the customer on hardware, software, implementation techniques, capacity, and mission requirements.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, Unix shell scripts, and batch scripts for configuration and auditing of network devices.
• Configure and maintain enterprise network monitoring for virtual machines, routers/switches, and data-center hardware using scripting and SNMP/IPMI protocols.
• Serve as a local subject-matter expert for tools such as Zabbix and TACACS+.
• Track initiatives and tasks in Jira as a contributor to an Agile Scrum team.
• Configure and maintain DISA STIG compliance on Cisco routers and switches.

Position Summary

Support a large, worldwide enterprise network by planning, engineering, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure. This senior technical role provides Tier 2 support, develops network automation, maintains security compliance, and serves as a subject-matter resource for enterprise network administration and monitoring.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with a BS/BA; minimum 6 years with an MS/MA; or 12 years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience developing Zabbix templates for network monitoring.
• Hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS‑XE and NX‑OS routers and switches.
• Experience with EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF, including authentication and route distribution.
• Experience with Cisco zone‑based firewalls, ACLs, IPsec tunnels, DMVPN, and VLAN separation.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Expect, Bash, and Python.
• Experience developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks.
• Experience applying DISA STIG security configurations to Cisco networking devices.

Desired Qualifications

• Current CCNA and/or CCNP certification.
• Experience with Jira, Zabbix, and TACACS+.
• Experience working on Agile Scrum teams.

Salary range is current recruiting guidance based on comparable Level 3/Senior positions; final compensation is subject to labor‑category alignment and customer approval.
