Job summary

SGS Consulting in Boston seeks a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and support secure network environments. You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and encryption devices and ensure scalable architectures.

Responsibilities include Cisco/Palo Alto management, Linux networking, SIEM tools, and VM infrastructure, with emphasis on performance, reliability, and teamwork in an agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices.
• Strong network design and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with Cisco and Palo Alto devices and SIEM tools.
• Experience with Linux networking and VM environments.

Responsibilities

• Create network diagrams using Visio and communicate designs to stakeholders.

• Proven ability to configure routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices such as TACLANEs, as well as network design and implementations
• Network Systems Analysis
• Optimization of Distribution Networks
• Cisco device and security administration
• SSH Server implementation, Host Based Firewall, Web Server
• System Auditing, Hardening and Firewall Configurations
• PaloAlto configuration
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, OpenNMS, Nagios

• Prepare network diagrams using Microsoft Visio
