Title: Sr. Network Engineer (SR-MPLS & BGP Expert)

Location: Remote out of Houston, TX

Duration: Contract

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US.

• This position requires expert-level skills in SR-MPLS and BGP
• Candidates without strong experience in Segment Routing (SR-MPLS) will not be considered

Summary:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with deep expertise in Segment Routing MPLS (SR-MPLS) and BGP to support their Aviat network deployment. They are encountering routing and BGP-related challenges and need an experienced professional to troubleshoot, optimize, and ensure seamless network performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve BGP and routing issues in an SR-MPLS environment.
• Work hands-on with Aviat Networks equipment, ensuring proper integration and performance.
• Optimize Segment Routing (SR-MPLS) policies for traffic engineering and efficiency.
• Analyze BGP advertisements, path selection, and route convergence to address instability.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop best practices for routing and network resiliency.
• Document troubleshooting steps and recommend long-term solutions for network stability.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering with SR-MPLS and BGP expertise.
• Strong background in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS) and MPLS architectures.
• Experience working with Aviat Networks gear is highly preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex routing issues in a multi-vendor environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
