Job summary

REJIS Commission seeks an experienced Network Engineer Specialist to design, deploy, and secure complex WAN/LAN networks for public sector clients in the St. Louis area. You’ll lead critical infrastructure initiatives, troubleshoot advanced issues, and help shape technology decisions.

You’ll mentor other IT staff, collaborate with vendors and clients, ensure CJIS and MULES compliance, and evaluate emerging network technologies to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required with 10–12 years of network experience or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of WAN/LAN networking, infrastructure, and security
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and work independently
• Experience guiding, mentoring, or leading other IT professionals
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel to client locations as needed
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance

Responsibilities

REJIS is looking for an experienced Network Engineer Specialist who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, staying ahead of emerging technology, and helping build secure and reliable infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll be more than just the person who keeps the network running. You’ll serve as a technical expert for REJIS and our clients, help shape technology decisions, tackle challenging network and infrastructure issues, and share your knowledge by mentoring other IT professionals.

What You’ll Do

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

• Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field and 10–12 years of experience in a network technology environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong knowledge of WAN/LAN networking, infrastructure, network security, and related technologies
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and work independently
• Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring, or leadership to other IT professionals
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel to client locations as needed
• Valid driver’s license and legally required automobile insurance

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Experience with project management, budgeting, client relationship management, and emerging network technologies
