Job description

ScaleMatrix is currently seeking a full-time Network Engineer (NE) to design and support network solutions, by collaborating with a team of Data Center Technology professionals. ScaleMatrix is a growing company with a dynamic and exciting work environment. The NE oversees all transitions from infrastructure planning to implementation for our clients and internal employees. The NE will provide network consulting and designs to build secure and reliable solutions. The NE will create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution, manage and document networking infrastructure, and provide support and service to our clients. Teamwork, organizational skills and flexibility are crucial attributes to bring to this position.

Required Skillsets:
  • Ability to install new hardware, systems, services, and software for networks.
  • Plan and support network infrastructure in a large-scale environment.
  • Perform troubleshooting analysis of switches, firewalls and routing in multiple data centers.
  • Document network problems and implement resolution steps to prevent future issues.
  • Monitor system performance and implement tuning improvements.
  • Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure operational stability of internal and client networks.
  • Partner with Sales Engineering personnel to recommend and deliver client solutions.
  • Manage a high volume of daily tasks along with project deliverables.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking fundamentals in a data center environment.
  • Must have a high level of comfort working in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated, experienced, resourceful and focus on client experience.
  • Experience in a team-driven, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong analytical abilities and professional workplace experience needed.
  • Willing to work after hours and weekends as needed to support projects and clients.
  • Must be self-motivated, eager to learn and willing to take direction.

  • Must be able to multi-task, manage details, and keep sight of overall objectives.
Pluses:
  • Previous experience building and executing network roadmaps to support growth initiatives.
  • Running large-scale network projects using established Project Management tools.
  • Hands of experience with Juniper Data Center capable network equipment.
  • Experience with SDN (Software Defined Networks).
Qualifications
  • 4+ years working with Juniper, Brocade or Cisco switching devices.
