Days / Hours of Work: Sat-Wed | 8AM-5PM PST and as assigned

JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited direction of the Network Engineering Manager, this person is responsible for providing shift networking support. This Network Engineer is a mid-level position that works with various departments within the company, as well as vendors, designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our company's and our clients’ network infrastructure. This role requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a 24x7 NOC environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and implement network infrastructure and security solutions.
  • Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Perform network maintenance activities such as firmware upgrades and patching.
  • Manage network security protocols, including VPN, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Work with other IT teams to support and maintain applications and services that rely on the network.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure network requirements are met for new technology implementations.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation and diagrams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications – Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Strongly preferred industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE equivalent.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Understanding of SD-WAN and SASE technologies.
  • Strong experience with network security protocols and technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Working Conditions / Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Required to work in an office environment with moderate noise and temperatures.
  • Incumbent may be asked to perform other duties as required.
  • Sit for long periods.
  • Standing/walking frequently.
  • Occasionally: Bending/stooping, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, balancing, reaching, driving, lifting (floor-to-waist, self, less than 30 lbs), lifting (waist-to-shoulder, self, less than 30 lbs).

  • May require the ability to travel by air or auto.
  • These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Wages and Benefits:

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Pay is DOE, $55-75/hour.
