Job summary

Independent Software in the United States seeks a Network Engineer Level 3 to design, deploy, and sustain Cisco and Arista network infrastructure in complex environments, with focus on security, upgrades, fielding, and modernization toward containerized or cloud-based solutions. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field with 10 years of Network Engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of Network Engineering experience.
• 16 years of Network Engineering experience in lieu of a degree with certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, deploy, and sustain Cisco and Arista network infrastructure.
• Support network design and architecture for new systems and environments.
• Configure and test new systems, upgrades, and network configurations in lab environments.
• Support remote and in-person fielding of new network equipment and capabilities.
• Provide ongoing network support, including firewall and crypto equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex network, connectivity, and infrastructure issues.
• Support modernization toward containerized and possibly cloud environments.
• Support network upgrades, cutovers, and configuration changes.
• Track and resolve issues using JIRA or similar ticketing systems.
• Maintain network documentation and diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer teams to maintain continuity.
• Participate in on-call support and occasional OCONUS travel.
