Job summary

Qualifications

Overview

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Network Engineer - Level 2 or 3 to join our team based in the Aurora, Colorado area at Buckley SFB. The Network Engineer will support the customer’s computer data communications systems, providing design specifications, testing and inspections for computer networks; plan and implement upgrades; as well as analyze and organize corresponding hardware and software solutions through network modeling.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and engineering for WAN/LAN development and maintenance.
  • Install, design, configurations, monitoring, and maintenance of network hardware and software to ensure network availability to system users.
  • Work with network support and client/server specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
  • Support projects involving networks by helping them connect to the network and troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation and support of the network.
Qualifications
  • Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of Network Engineering experience; Master’s degree with 0 years; Associate’s degree with 4 years; or HS diploma/GED with 6 years of Network Engineering experience. Associate’s degree with 7 years; or HS diploma/GED with 9 years of Network Engineering experience. Active/current Top Secret/SCI clearance with adjudicated CI or Full Scope Polygraph at time of application. Active/current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent 8570 certification. Network Engineering experience covering Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Cabling, and Hardware configuration/installation with CISCO and/or Juniper equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 6 years of Network Engineering experience covering Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Cabling, and Hardware configuration/installation with CISCO and/or Juniper equipment demonstrating strong proficiency.
  • Experience working with worldwide enterprise networks and with classified level enterprise networks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to program management and customers; write technical documentation.
  • Experience sharing knowledge, mentoring, and working in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds (rare).
  • Ability to support after hours and on weekends as needed (rare).
Salary and Benefits
  • Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00
  • Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
  • Salary is a general guideline; base offers consider position scope, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
  • Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay; annual bonuses based on contributions and company results. Long-term incentives may apply for VP/Director levels.
  • Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and PTO.

Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance: Top Secret/SCI with CI or Full Scope Polygraph at time of application is required. Travel: Yes, approximately 10% of the time.
